Dr. Zachary Wilcox is originally from a dairy farm in upstate New York. He completed both his undergraduate and masters studies at Cornell University in Animal Science with a focus on dairy nutrition and infectious disease. He went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Wilcox then completed a rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital, a busy emergency and specialty referral hospital on the east coast before moving to warm and sunny California.
In July 2015 and joined United Veterinary Specialty and Emergency. As one of our emergency clinicians, Dr. Wilcox is interested in many areas of emergent care but takes a particular interest in trauma as well as management of neurologic and toxicologic critical care cases. He is an avid traveler, enjoys gourmet cooking and wines, scuba diving, and being outside, but also enjoys watching hours of Netflix and relaxing with his two Jack Russell Terriers: Maggie and Rupert and adopted daughter Kiki, a beagle-husky mix.
